Race Information

The Race to Remember is an excellent 5K and 1 mile fun run event that serves as the largest annual fundraiser for Hospice of Marshall County.  Check out our course map by clicking HERE.  You can learn more about Hospice of Marshall County at www.hospicemc.org.

Whether you are a competitive runner, casual jogger or just out for a short stroll- the Race to Remember has something for you!  Race to Remember is not about the speed or dexterity at which you walk or run, it is about remembering lost loved ones and encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle while supporting a worthwhile cause.

New in 2014:

The 9th annual Hospice of Marshall County Race to Remember will be our best event yet!  We will have the same chip timed, well-supported, family friendly, closed course with all new features, incentives and benefits! 

Schedule of Events for Saturday, March 1, 2014:

6:30 a.m.-7:45 a.m.

Registration and check in at SSCC Gym

7:45 a.m.

Opening Ceremony Begins

8:00 a.m.

5K Race/Walk Begins (Runners will line up in front of walkers)

9:00 a.m.

1 Mile Fun Run Begins

9:30 a.m.

Course Description

The Race to Remember course is closed-course, well-supported, family-friendly 5K through streets surrounding the beautiful and historic Snead State Community College (SSCC) and surrounding residential area.  This fast, relatively flat, USATF Certified course begins and ends at the SSCC Gym, 509 W. Mann Avenue in Boaz, Al. 

During the race, water will be available.  Before and after the race, rehydration & snacks will be available.  Participants can expect well posted directions throughout the course as well as a host of volunteers ready to cheer them on!  Medical support will also be available on site during the event.

After the event, we will have a party awaiting you at the finish line!  We have vendors, door prizes, entertainment, snacks and more!

February 27th- Fleet Feet Huntsville- 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

February 28th- Hospice of Marshall County- 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

February 28th-Snead State Gym- 4-6 p.m.
